Plain-language summary: Textonic is a tool for educators. You own your content. You're responsible for reviewing AI-generated material before sharing it with students. We keep your data private and don't sell it. Be reasonable, and we'll be reasonable back.
By accessing or using Textonic ("the Service," "we," "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (the "User") and Textonic. If you use the Service on behalf of an institution or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
Textonic is an AI-assisted course content platform that helps educators generate, organize, and deliver learning materials. Core features include:
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service as an educator or administrator. Students may interact with Textonic content through their institution's LMS (e.g., Canvas) under the supervision of an authorized educator.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Notify us immediately at support@textonic.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
Textonic uses large language models to generate educational content. While we apply quality scoring and validation processes, AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, outdated information, or omissions.
Specifically:
Textonic makes no warranty that generated content is accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular educational purpose.
Educators using Textonic are solely responsible for:
Textonic is a tool that assists educators — it does not replace professional judgment. Do not share content with students without reviewing it first.
You retain ownership of all content you bring to the platform, including course titles, descriptions, instructional guidance you provide, and customizations you make to generated content.
When Textonic generates content in response to your prompts and course configurations, that generated output is yours to use, modify, and distribute for educational purposes. You are not required to attribute it to Textonic.
By using the Service, you grant Textonic a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and display your content as necessary to provide the Service. We do not use your course content to train AI models without your explicit consent.
The Textonic platform itself — including its code, design, trademarks, and the underlying infrastructure — remains our exclusive property.
Textonic offers an LTI 1.3 integration that allows it to connect with your Learning Management System (LMS), such as Instructure Canvas. When you enable this integration:
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the LTI integration complies with your institution's data governance policies and any data processing agreements with your LMS provider.
You agree not to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
Some features of Textonic are available on a paid subscription basis. By subscribing, you agree to pay the applicable fees as described at the time of purchase.
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@textonic.app or through your account settings. Upon termination, your access to the Service will end. Your content may be retained for a limited period as described in our Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior, or for any other reason at our reasonable discretion. We will generally try to give you notice before termination unless immediate action is required.
Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including content ownership, disclaimers, liability limitations, and dispute resolution — will continue to apply.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Textonic disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of AI-generated content, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will meet your specific educational requirements.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Textonic will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of learning outcomes, grades, data, or academic reputation — arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
If you have a dispute with Textonic, please contact us first at support@textonic.app. We will make a good-faith effort to resolve it informally.
If informal resolution fails, disputes will be governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Both parties agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of the courts located in Delaware for any litigation arising from these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes via email or a notice on the platform. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
